Day 1 Arrival

Arrival to our eco-friendly hotel in Vilamaniscle where we will stay between vineyards. Welcome meeting with the local guide who will provide you with maps and GPS and will explain you each of the stretches. Tasting of a glass of wine from the area. Possibility of tasting a fantastic dinner with wines of the DO Empordà.

Day 2. Vilamaniscle – Roses (42km)

We will leave Vilamaniscle and head to Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, crossing some vineyards along the way.

We will arrive at Roses and cross the big bay where we can meet some sand castles makers, until we reach the port.

Day 3. Vilamaniscle – Llançà (29km)

The path to Llança goes through a beautiful mountainous landscape. Once at Llança we will pass the village centre where the church should be pointed out, and go down to the sea passing the port and the beach. Today we will have time to enjoy a fantastic beach day. Return to Vilamaniscle. After a shower and a rest, visit of one of the wineries in Vilamaniscle and wine tasting. 

Day 4. Vilamaniscle – Figueres (41km)

Stretch that combines landscape and cultural heritage.

We set off to Figueres between forests, vineyards and different growing fields. Once we arrive at Figueres, you can stroll calmly in the historical center and you must not miss the visit to the Dalí Theatre-Museum, the largest surrealist object in the world.

We will go to Vilabertran, where we will find the Romanesque ensemble of the Canónica de Vilabertran. From Vilabertran we will go to Peralada through paths that placidly run between growing fields. Arrival at Peralada, you can go for a walk in its old center and visit the Peralada Castle.

Day 5. Vilamaniscle – Sant Climent (26km)

Stretch with a hugely interesting landscape.

We set off to Rabòs i Espolla passing across a forest and watching vineyards and other growing fields.

Once in Espolla, you will see the remains of an old fortified area, some modernist buildings and the cellar – cooperative.

You will continue to Sant Climent Sescebes where we can point out the remains of the wall, the Rectory, the Old Bridge and the Martí Fabra Winery. Return to Vilamaniscle. Today is the perfect day for a Catalonan cooking workshop, with seasonal products

Day 6. Vilamaniscle – Empuriabrava (44km)

The stretch starts with a moderate descent by a very quiet road and between forests to Garriguella. Before getting there we will cross some vineyards.

We will continue to Castelló d’Empuries following La Muga River in a soft descent until we arrive at Empuriabrava, going all over its beach and its navigable roads.

On the way back we will pass Castelló d’Empuries and we can visit the old town and the Basilica.

Day 7. Departure

Tasting dinner with DO Empordà wines

Why do you not start with a dinner with regional products together with DO Empordà wines? It is the best way to get into this fantastic land and to start discovering and tasting its secrets, gastronomy and its wonderful wine.

Catalonian/Spanish cooking workshop with seasonal products

Do not miss the cooking workshop with typical Spanish and Catalan dishes that Montse will prepare in the kitchen of Mas Vivent. Every season has its own products so Montse will prepare a menu with the typical products of the area for you to taste the Empordà flavours.
